The top six teams from the previous Asian Games, which were held in Incheon, South Korea in 2014, have automatically qualified for the upcoming Asian Games which will be hosted by Indonesia in Jakarta. Pre-qualified teams include the reigning champions India, runner-up Pakistan, South Korea, Japan, Malaysia and China. Indonesia, being the host nation for the Asian Games, has also secured a place for the main event.
Eight teams will go head to head in the Men’s Asian Games Qualifier to secure a place in the main event. Oman, Sri Lanka, Hong Kong, Chinese Taipei, Kazakhstan, Bangladesh, Thailand and Indonesia are the participating teams. Top five team, will qualify for the 2018 Asian Games.
