The Women’s AHF Cup 2016 took place in Bangkok, Thailand, from 1 to 9 October 2016.
Nine teams competed for the last two open places in the Asia Cup 2017, which in turn is a qualification tournament for the 2018 FIH World Cup. In the end, it was Thailand and Singapore who claimed the coveted tickets to participate in the 2017 continental championships.
