Under PHF Domestic Hockey Development Vision, KHA Inter-Club Talent Hunt 5A Side Ramadan Hockey League 2021 commenced at the KHA Sports Complex recently.
13 clubs registered with Karachi hockey Association are participating in the tournament which will conclude on April 30th. The final of which will be played in floodlight.
Strict SOPs which include checking up of temperature, blood pressure & pulse of players and officials regularly, passing from Disinfecting gate, sanitizing through shower after short intervals & with complete social distancing are being observed.
A team of doctors namely Zaheer Khan, Dr Summer Islam & Dr Mohsin Ali are performing medical duties and monitoring the stric implementation of all SOPs.
Four matches were played on opening day. In the first match, Baldya club beat Pak Wonders club by 7-5. In the second match, Dr Badar Uddin Hockey club beat Pak Flag Hockey club 4-2. In the third match, Al Saghir Hockey club carved out a 6-4 victory over Gulberg Hockey Club. In the fourth match, Al-Faisal Hockey Club recorded a 3-1 victory over Federal Hockey Club.
The Tournament which is played under the PHF Vision is aimed at giving maximum chance to the reserve players who used to spend most of their career on the bench.
The tournament envisions and enables KHA to seek new talent for the future.
Aqeel (Baldya Hockey Club), Bilal (Pakwonders), Faizan Farrukh (Dr Baduruddin Hockey Club), Rayyan (Al Saghir Hockey Club) and Mawiz Ashfaq (Al Faisal Hockey Club) shone by slamming hat-tricks on the opening day of the competition.
