SAI-Academy, Madhya Pradesh Academy, Odisha Naval Tata Hockey High Performance Centre and Roundglass Punjab Hockey Club Academy Qualified for the Sami Finals

SAI-Academy, Roundglass Punjab Hockey Club Academy, Jai Bharat Hockey Academy and Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy earned victories on day six of the 1st Hockey India Sub Junior Women Academy National Championship 2021 in Bhubaneswar.

SAI- Academy continued their sublime form in the 1st Hockey India Sub Junior Women Academy National Championship 2021 as they beat Dhyan Chand Hockey Academy 16-0 to finish on the top of Pool A. Manju (2′, 24′, 59′) bagged a hat-trick while Captain Sonam (5′, 48′), Kirti (21′, 54′), Pria (12′, 37′), Tanuja Toppo (13′, 34′) and Anju Majhi (41′, 44′) each netted twice in the first match of the day. Sunelita Toppo (26′), Nikita (38′) and Puja Sahoo (60′) scored a goal each in what was SAI-Academy’s fourth consecutive win of the tournament.

In another Pool A match of the day, Roundglass Punjab Hockey Club Academy fought valiantly to register a come-from-behind 5-3 win over Markandeshwar Hockey Academy. Kajal’s hat-trick (7′, 20′, 48′) for Markandeshwar Hockey Academy was overpowered as Roundglass Punjab Hockey Club Academy’s resurgence in the final 10 minutes ensured them a 5-3 win in their final league stage match. Namneet Kaur (52′, 59′) bagged two goals while Amritpal (21′), Amandpreet Kaur (51′), and Gulnar Kaur (60′) scored a goal each to help Roundglass Punjab Hockey Club Academy earn a spot in the Semi Final of the 1st Hockey India Sub Junior Women Academy National Championship 2021.

In Pool B, Jai Bharat Hockey Academy registered a comprehensive 12-0 win against Tamil Nadu Hockey Academy. Captain Navneet Kaur (8′, 37′, 38′, 39′, 60′) was the star of the show with her staggering five-goal haul. Renu (23′, 25′) and Snehpal (43′, 50′) bagged two goals each while Abeer Kaur (28′), Jiya (42′) and Bhoomi Tiwari (45′) scored a goal each to help Jai Bharat Hockey Academy end their campaign on a winning note.

In the final league stage match of the tournament, Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy defeated Olympian Vivek Singh Hockey Academy 5-0. Captain Bhumiksha Sahu (6′, 21′, 35′) starred with a fine hat-trick while Kirshna Sharma (12′) and Swati (18′) chipped in with a goal each ensuring Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy a spot in the Semi Final of the inaugural edition of the tournament.

The semi-finals of the 1st Hockey India Sub Junior Women Academy National Championship 2021 will start on Wednesday. The first Semi-Final will be played between SAI-Academy and Madhya Pradesh Academy while the second will be played between Odisha Naval Tata Hockey High Performance Centre and Roundglass Punjab Hockey Club Academy.

 

Day Six Results

Salute Hockey Academy, Khalsa Hockey Academy (Amritsar), SAI – Academy & Jai Bharat Hockey Academy made progress by winning their respective matches on day six of the 1st Hockey India Junior Women Academy National Championship 2021.

In Pool C, Salute Hockey Academy emerged with a 5 – 1 victory over Dhyan Chand Hockey Academy in the first match of the day. Captain Rajbala (3’), Mamta (7’), Anushka (28’), Pooja (40’) and Savita (50’) scored one goal each for Salute Hockey Academy, while Nilam Kachhap scored the only goal (18’) for Dhyan Chand Hockey Academy.

In the second Pool C match, Khalsa Hockey Academy (Amritsar) defeated Raja Karan Hockey Academy 15 – 0 thanks to goals from Taranpreet Kaur (8’, 11’, 27’, 47’, 51’, 59’), Captain Simranjeet Kaur (25’, 54’, 58’), Sneha Sabharwal (45’, 49’, 56’), Chewang Tamang (19’), Palak Kaur (28’) and Sukhpreet Kaur (32’). Captain Simranjeet Kaur and Taranpreet Kaur are the joint top scorers of the competition at this stage with 11 goals each to their name.

In Pool D, SAI – Academy also racked up double figures to defeat Ghumanhera Riser’s Academy 10 – 0. Pooja Yadav (4’, 21’, 34’, 56’), Sanjna Horo (11’, 13’, 26’), Hina Bano (2’), Sakshi Shukla (24’) and Bhavani Madugula (25’) scored the goals for SAI – Academy.

In the second Pool D match, Jai Bharat Hockey Academy beat Roundglass Punjab Hockey Club Academy 5 – 1. Khushi (24’, 44’), Khushi (28’, 51’) and Muskan Ahlawat (38’) scored for Jai Bharat Hockey Academy, while Gurleen Kaur scored one goal (48’) for Roundglass Punjab Hockey Club Academy.
