Under the auspices of Pakistan Hockey Federation, a 26-member National Hockey Training Camp for Asian Champions Trophy is underway at National Hockey Stadium, Lahore. Camp Commandant and Head Coach National Hockey Team Olympian Khawaja Junaid supervises, Engaged in improving fitness and hockey skill training.

Camp Commandant and Head Coach Olympian Khawaja Junaid has said that PHF has a good strategy to set up a training hockey camp in Karachi to prepare for the Junior World Cup keeping in view the Corona SOPs and the Asian Champions Trophy. The camp is underway in Lahore. The main target of the ongoing National Senior Hockey Camp in Lahore is participation and preparation for the Asian Champions Trophy to be held in Bangladesh in December. He said that no team is coming to Pakistan at the moment and Pakistan is not going to play anywhere and PHF has a better plan for both senior and junior teams to play practice matches. “I think that by playing each other, the mistakes and shortcomings of the players can be worked out in a better way,” he said.

Muneeb-ur-Rehman (Goalkeeper, Sui Southern Gas), Akmal Hussain (Goalkeeper, WAPDA), Defenders: Mubashir Ali (WAPDA), Abu Bakar are among the 29 players who have been invited to the National Hockey Training Camp by Pakistan Hockey Federation.
