AHF Establishes Sustainability and Legacy Committee

Today, Chief Executive & Secretary General AHF Dato Tayyab Ikram announced the establishment of AHF Sustainability and Legacy Committee. This initiative is an important step forward to enhance the efforts for sustainable development, and for AHF to consider Sustainability and Legacy at every step it takes. This includes building new infrastructure, organisation and management of events, and the protection of environment. AHF will soon establish Terms of Reference (TOR) for this committee and a new chairman will be appointed after approval from the Executive Board.

Top leadership has been shortlisted to lead this important committee with significantly high standards. The chairperson is required to have experience about sustainability, business and also sustainability & legacy aspect in its affiliation to public and private sectors. The final selection will be made and will have blessings of His Majesty Sultan Abdullah Ahmad Shah – the King of Malaysia – on this important initiative.

President AHF Dato Fumio Ogura following the establishment of the committee said, “I am glad to announce this great initiative taken by the Asian Hockey Federation. The formation of AHF Sustainability & Legacy Committee will enable us to make informed, balanced decisions that will maximise positive impacts and foster positive changes and legacies in the social, economic and environmental spheres.”

Chief Executive / Secretary General AHF Dato Tayyab Ikram added, “The AHF Sustainability and Legacy Committee will serve as the forefront in formatting and implementing sustainable development strategies and sustainable legacy for the Asian Hockey Federation. We are happy to announce the formation of this important committee. With the important role of this committee, the hockey in Asia will have better sustainability and a richer legacy than ever before.”
