AHF to host first-ever Online Indoor Hockey Forum

Back

The AHF is hosting the first-ever Indoor Hockey Forum on 8 August 2020, which focuses on Coaching, Hosting, and Umpiring in relation to Indoor Hockey.

This forum is a first of a kind, meticulously designed by the AHF for the hockey community.

Participants from all over Asia and Africa are expected to take part in the forum, with top FIH Coaches & Experts to oversee the proceedings. They include Elisabeth Fuerst, Ged Curran, and Jens Lüninghöner.

The main agenda of the forum will be to highlight the importance of Indoor Hockey and it’s advantages. Jens will overlook the Coaching aspect of Indoor Hockey, whereas Elisabeth will overlook the Hosting aspect and Ged will be handling the Umpiring aspect.

On the launch of the Indoor Hockey Forum, AHF President, Dato Fumio Ogura remarked:

“With this step the Asian Hockey Federation has first identified an opportunity to disseminate valuable information to the community and then acted on it by planning this Indoor Hockey Forum. Indoor Hockey and Hockey 5s are an essential form of the sport which must not be overlooked. The Indoor Hockey Forum is thereby also very important to the future of hockey and will be a staple in the coming times. The purpose is to educate and engage our National Associations, as we have managed to engage Asian and African nations with this initiative.

I am sure this initiative will be well received and will prove to be invaluable to the hockey community. We have managed to get onboard FIH experts and educators that are well versed on the topic, and through the sharing of their experience we hope that the hockey family grows together and comes to appreciate Indoor Hockey and Hockey 5s according to their true potential.”
