The Indoor Cup continued today in Chonburi, Thailand with semi-finals and more matches for both, Men’s and Women’s categories.

Men’s Indoor Hockey Asia Cup 2019

An empowered Iran smashed Uzbekistan in the first semi-final after an impressive win of 9-1. The defending champions were superior in every single level during the whole game where Uzbekistan never found its place and secured their place in tomorrow’s finale.

Malaysia and Kazakhstan played out another incredibly important and hard-fought game, where the Malaysians finished the 1st half 2-1, but the Kazakhstan men scored three goals during the second half, winning the match 5-3, winning the match and playing for the gold tomorrow against Iran.

 

The ninth and tenth place matches were also played today. Nepal defeated Philippines 3-0, securing 9th place. In a more entertaining match, Bangladesh goaled Chinese Taipei 9-0, with an impressive victory and their goal unbeaten, they have been rewarded with 7th place.

Women’s Indoor Hockey Asia Cup 2019

The first semi-final match was between Kazakhstan and Malaysia. The defending champions kept complete control of the game during the 1s half, scoring two goals. The Malaysian tried harder during the 2nd half to even the game, but it wasn’t enough. Kazakhstan won 2-1 and advance to the tomorrow’s finale.

The second semi-final put Thailand versus Uzbekistan, starting the game with 2 quick goals early on. But the host nation’s counter attacked fast and put the odds in their favor. Dominating the game during the 2nd half and winning 5-3, playing the final match for the gold tomorrow against Kazakhstan.

 

Meanwhile, in the cross-over match, Philippines and Singapore ended 1-1, going into penalties where Singapore got the victory 2-3 and securing the 7th place match against Nepal.
