All Pakistan Chief Minister Balochistan Gold Cup was inaugurated on 23 March 2021. Chief Minister of Balochistan Jam Kamal Khan was the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony. In the colorful opening ceremony, the teams marched past and the national anthem was danced to the beat of drums.

In the opening match, Balochistan Colors defeated Azad Jammu and Kashmir 1-3. Olympian Shakeel Abbasi scored two brilliant field goals for Balochistan.

All Pakistan Chief Minister Balochistan Gold Cup Hockey Tournament is taking place under the auspices of Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs Balochistan, Youth Hockey Development Vision, Pakistan Hockey Federation and Balochistan Hockey Association for the promotion, development and revival of the national game. It was grandly inaugurated. The Chief Guest of the inauguration ceremony was Chief Minister Balochistan Jam Kamal Khan. The distinguished guest of honor inaugurated the event by hitting the ball with a hockey stick. The teams participating in the event opened a beautiful march past with crescent flags. March Past was led by 1994 World Hockey Champion Olympian Anjum Saeed. Olympian Usman Sheikh was also there in the march Past. International players Olympian Shakeel Abbasi, Olympian Zeeshan Ashraf, Emad Shakeel Butt, Azfar Yaqub and Mujahid Afzal were also present.

Addressing the inaugural ceremony, Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan said that Balochistan would play its role in reviving the national game. He said that more hockey events would be organized in Balochistan province with the help of Pakistan Hockey Federation. The Chief Minister Balochistan said that he wished Olympians like Shakeel Abbasi and Zeeshan Ashraf from Balochistan would join the mainstream of the national game and make the name of the province bright. Much work has been done on cricket and now it is time to work for the revival and development of the national game. He said that a prize of Rs 1.5 million would be given to the winning team of the event. The runner-up team of the event will be awarded Rs. 1 million and Rs. 500,000 for the third position.

The opening match was played between Balochistan Colors and Azad Jammu and Kashmir which Balochistan Colors won by three goals to one. On behalf of the host and the winning team, Olympian Shakeel Abbasi scored two brilliant field goals while outside left Miraj scored a goal in a beautiful performance. Waqas scored the only goal for Azad Jammu and Kashmir. The match was played by umpires Haroon Rashid and Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din supervised while Sabteen Raza was performing the duties of Reserve Empire. Olympian Anjum Saeed is acting as the tournament director of the event while organizing secretary Amjad Satti is acting secretary Balochistan Hockey Association. A team of veteran technical officials from the Pakistan Hockey Federation has been deployed to conduct the event in the light of the rules of the International Hockey Federation.
