All Pakistan Commissioner Gujranwala Gold Cup Hockey Tournament enters the final stages

All Pakistan Commissioner Gujranwala Gold Cup Hockey Tournament has entered the final stages. Pakistan WAPDA, Pakistan Navy, Mari Petroleum and Punjab Colors have qualified for the semi-finals. The semi-finals will be played on February 18 after a one-day break. Pakistan WAPDA will be competing with Pakistan Navy while Punjab Colors will be competing against Mari Petroleum. The first semi-final will be played at 3:00 pm while the second semi-final will be played at 6:00 pm in electric lights. The final will be played on February 19.

Three matches were played on the last day of round matches of All Pakistan Commissioner Gujranwala Gold Cup Hockey Tournament under the supervision of Pakistan Hockey Federation and organized by Punjab Hockey Association at Gakhar Sports Complex Gujranwala. The first match of the fourth day of the event was played between Port Qasim and Sindh which was won by Port Qasim 3-6. Zain, Qadir and Harris scored one goal each for Sindh Hockey Team. The umpiring duties in the said match were performed by Mazhar Wasim and Mubarak Ali while the reserve umpire was Mubashir Ali. The duties of judges were performed by Javed Sadiq, Ikram-ul-Haq, Munawar Chaudhry and the duties of technical officer were performed by Haroon Saeed.

The second match was played between Pakistan Navy and Mari Petroleum which was won by Mari Petroleum 2-3. Umair Sattar, Ghazanfar, Arbaaz scored goals for Mari Petroleum while Sufyan scored two goals for Pakistan Navy. Hamza Khan and Yasir Khurshid International officiated the match. The reserve umpire was Zahid Hameed while the duties of judges were performed by Allah Daad, Hafiz Arshad, Aslam Shah and the duties of technical officer were performed by Rafiq Khan. The third interesting match of the event was played between Pakistan Wapda and Punjab Keller which ended in a 3-3 draw. Five provincial and five departmental teams are participating in the event which is being played at Sports Arena Ghakhar (Gujranwala). Col. R. Asif Naz Khokhar has been appointed as Organizing Secretary, Olympian Danish Kaleem as Tournament Director and Rana Liaqat Ali (Attock) as Assistant Tournament Director. Umpires Manager FIH Umpires Manager Rashid Mehmood Butt (Railways) has been posted while former International Hockey Umpire Dilawar Bhatti is performing the duties of Assistant Umpires Manager.
