Asian Games 2022 song releases with “unique Hangzhou flavour”

The Most Beautiful Scenery, has been released and is available for download.

The song was launched with an accompanying music video and has aimed to reflect the host city’s culture.

“The rhythm of the song is lively, the lyrics have the unique Hangzhou flavour, and the video describes the picturesque scenery of Hangzhou, amazing netizens,” read a Hangzhou 2022 statement.

Hangzhou 2022’s Organising Committee (HAGOC) has partnered with China Mobile to make the song and video available free for the network’s users who at least have the basic package.

The pair have made sure to make it available without having to download any other applications.

The Organising Committee had previously run a worldwide competition to “find musical themes” for the Games.

“To host a successful Asian Games, we need a collection of outstanding musical works,” said HAGOC deputy secretary Chen Weiqiang, who is also vice-mayor of Hangzhou.

The Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games are scheduled to take place from September 23 to October 8 2023, having been postponed by a year due to COVID-19 restrictions in China.

It is due to be China’s third staging of the Asian Games, following Beijing 1990 and Guangzhou 2010.
