Bangkok: Ahead of the Asian Youth Olympic Games Qualifiers starting from the 25th of April, Thailand Hockey Association held a press conference. AHF Chief Executive Dato Tayyab Ikram and President Thailand Hockey Association, Mr. Chaiyapak Siriwat lead the proceedings. Event officials, media representatives, and the host nations participating squad attended the press conference, which presented the details of the event, and what fans may look forward to.

The 5-day event will follow a Hockey 5’s format in which 11 Men’s and 9 Women’s teams will participate. Participants ranging from ages between 15-18 years of age will showcase their talent ahead of the main event in Bueno Aires, Argentina in October. The format offers fast-paced end to end action with plenty of goals, which will certainly engage fans and followers all over the globe. Chief Executive AHF, Dato Tayyab Ikram, said, “Hockey has evolved into an action-packed, fan-focused sport, that is engaging more and more followers”. He added, “Hockey 5-s is a relatively new format which tests teams and coaches to their limits. Such high-pressure games will surely train the young talented participants for larger formats of the game, in even larger platforms”. AHF CE congratulated the Event Organizing team for successful completion of pre-event formalities and wished them the best of luck for the upcoming event.
