Bangkok: Most of the teams have arrived and the stage is set! 11 Men’s and 9 Women’s teams will go head to head in a thrilling, 5-day Hockey 5’s event. The tournament will start on the 25th of April. A total of 58 matches will be played over the course of the tournament, at the end of which, 2 top  Men’s and Women’s teams will qualify for the 2018 Youth Olympic Games Buenos Aires.

The day will commence with a clash between Japan and Chinese Taipei Women’s side at 9 AM (THA, GMT + 7). Malaysia will then take on Hong Kong in the second match of the day. The Women’s matches will resume at 4 PM with India taking on Singapore and Chinese Taipei facing 2014 Youth Olympic Games Gold Medalists, China. The last two matches will be played between Korea and hosts Thailand, and Japan and Hong Kong, at 5 PM.

In the Men’s category, a total of 7 matches will be played on the opening day. Japan will take on Hong Kong while the hosts will take on Thailand. Malaysia will play Cambodia, while Bangladesh will face Singapore, at 2 PM and 3 PM respectively. Also at 3 PM, Pakistan will play Chinese Taipei. The day will end with clashes between Pool A teams as India take on Thailand, and Korea take on Hong Kong, at 6 PM.

Each team will play their Pool opponents once. The top two teams will qualify for the podium positions, while the rest will compete in the classification matches. Gold and Bronze Medal matches, along with the final classification matches will be played on the last day of the event for both the categories.
