Bangabandhu National School Hockey 2020: Keramatiya High School are the champions!

Keramatiya High School of Rangpur has won the honor of being the new champion of Bangabandhu First Security Islami Bank National School Hockey 2020 after beating Armanitola High School of Dhaka by 2-0 margin. In the final match at the Maulana Bhasani Hockey Stadium, Mohammed Vishal (3 minutes, field) and Rezaul Islam (54 minutes, field) scored the goals for the Keramatiya School. On the other hand, Armanitola, the champion of 2003 and 2012, could not fight back despite getting multiple chances against Keramatia School.

Honorable Education Minister Dr. Dipu Moni distributed the prizes among the winners as the chief guest at the end of the final. Honorable State Minister of Youth and Sports ministry Md. Zahid Ahsan Russell, Honorable President of Bangladesh Hockey Federation Air Chief Marshal Masihuzzaman Sarniabat BBP, OSP, NDU, PSC and Honorable Managing Director of First Security Islami Bank Syed Waseq Mohammad Ali was also present at the ceremony.

Runners-up Armanitola High School goalkeeper Suraj Das has been selected as the best player of the tournament, the Best scorer was Zahid Hossain (8 goals) of Shahid Mamun Mahmud School, Razshahi and the best goalkeeper was Muhtasin Mahmud of Keramatiya High School, Rangpur.

Note that from January 25 this year, the Bangabandhu First Security Islami Bank National School Hockey started in nine venues across the country with 80 educational institutions. The final round begins in Dhaka with a total of 18 schools with two teams fromĀ each 9 venues. The second phase of the final round was held with the best 6 teams from there to decide semifinalists. In the semifinals, Keramatiya High School of Rangpur defeated Jubilee School of Dinajpur and Armanitola School of Dhaka defeated Shahid Mamun Mahmud School of Rajshahi to advance in final.
