Jakarta, 31st May 2022: A confident Oman beat hosts Indonesia 2-0 in the 5th to 8th placing match on the penultimate day of the Hero Asia Cup here at the GBK Sports Arena on Tuesday.

Oman, a higher ranked team compared to Indonesia, had to sweat to out to overcome a tough challenge from the hosts whose goalkeeper Alam Fajar continued to impress with some fantastic saves that kept the Oman scoreline down.

Oman had gotten off to a good start with an early goal in the 9th minute via Rashad Al Fazari. This goal came through a penalty corner conceded by Indonesia when they were defending inside the striking circle. It wasn’t until the third quarter that they could extend the lead to 2-0.

The goal was scored by Asama Al-Shibli who was quick in his moves to swiftly score a field goal.

With this match, both teams have ended their campaign at the Hero Asia Cup 2022.

Hero Player of The Match was presented to Oman’s Al Laun Sami.
