JAKARTA: South Korea scored 15-0 against Indonesia in Pool A match to move a step closer to the semi-finals of the men’s event at the GBK Hockey Stadium. South Korean coach Kim Young Kyu said that they did not want to waste their goal chances as the semi-finalist might be decided by goal difference.

“It was a much better performance than the earlier game. They (Korea) took their chances well and the players were more composed today. The way the group battle is shaping up the goals must be important.”

“We need to ready for the next two matches in our group; We play India on Sunday and then Japan on Tuesday. Both teams are in the battle for a semi-final place and we cannot take anything for granted,” he said.

Jang Jong Hyun scored four goals in the game. He was on target in the 9th, 29th, 44th and 57th minutes. Kim Jung Hoo and Jung Manjae managed to score a hat trick each. Junghoo scored in the eighth and 55th minutes while Manjae was on target in the 19th, 44thand 57thminutes.

The other goals were scored by Jung Manjae (19th) and Seo Inwoo in the 23rdminute. The Koreans have three wins from three matches played and have nine points. Their next two matches are crucial ties. They play India on Sunday and then Japan in their last group match on Tuesday. They had two big wins in their previous outings.
