District West wins over District South at the Karachi Talent Hunt Inter-District Men’s Hockey League 2021

Karachi: District West defeated District South by three goals to two in the first match of Karachi Talent Hunt Inter-District Men’s Hockey League 2021 (Day and Night) Trophy organized under the PHF Domestic Hockey Development Vision carried out by the Karachi Hockey Association on February 21. Special Secretary Sports Imtiaz Ali Shah was the guest of honor at the inaugural match. He was accompanied by Pakistan football team captain Kaleemullah, Olympian Samiullah, Olympian Hanif Khan, KHA Secretary Haider Hussain, Organizing Secretary Gulfraz Ahmed Khan, Event Coordinator Waqas Sheikh, Media Coordinators Javed Iqbal, and Muhammad Osama.

The march was passed before the opening match and then the guests and spectators stood and listened to the national anthem. The match was very interesting. Hammad, Adeel and Saud scored one goal each. Wahab and Anas scored for District South. The last goal from District West helped the team to victory.

At the end of the match, special guest Imtiaz Ali Shah also gave 3,000 cash prize of Man of the Match to Adeel of District West. 7 districts of Karachi are participating in this league for the promotion and development of the national game. All the teams are divided into two pools. In Pool A, District Malir, District West, District Kemari, and District South are included. Pool B includes District East, District Korangi, and District Central. The top two teams from both pools will play in the semi-finals on February 22.

The league final will be played on February 23. The winning team will be given a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh and the runner-up team will be given a cash prize of Rs 50,000. The man of the tournament will be given a 70cc motorcycle.
