Jakarta, 31st May 2022: Determined to end their campaign on a winning note, Pakistan registered a fantastic 8-0 win against Bangladesh in the 5th to 8th placing match on the final day of the Hero Asia Cup 2022 here at the GBK Sports Arena on Wednesday.

Pakistan showed their intent to win, right from the start. Though Bangladesh initially put them under the pump, Pakistan overcame a slow start to score the first goal in the 11th minute via Rizwan Ali. They added another goal to the board in the 16th minute through a PC converted by Mubashar Ali.

The team came back from the 10-minute half-time break to up their ante with Mubashar scoring his second goal in the 32nd minute, taking the team’s total to 3-0. Pakistan scored two more goals in the third quarter which came via Afraz and Abdul Shahid in the 39th and 42nd minute respectively.

Final quarter too saw a flurry of goals by Pakistan, with Captain Umar Bhutta in the 48th minute. With a fine 6-0 lead, Pakistan continued to attack in full steam converted two more field goals in the 53rd and the 60th minute of the match. It was scored by Ajaz Ahmad and Ali Ghazanfar respectively.
