Mr. Pawan Munjal, Chairman, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Hero MotoCorp, said, “The Hero Asian Champions Trophy has gained a lot of prominence in a short span of time, and helped in further popularizing the game. The Asian Hockey Federation (AHF) has also played a significant role in promoting the game across the continent. I congratulate the AHF for its persistent efforts in popularizing the game and wish them a very successful Hero Asian Champions Trophy in Oman. Hero MotoCorp has been one of the largest corporate promoters of the sport around the world. As a passionate follower and a long-term supporter of hockey, I look forward to some exciting world-class games at the tournament.”
Asian Hockey Federation Chief Executive, Dato Tayyab Ikram, speaking ahead of the schedule announcement said, “I would like to thank Hero MotoCorp for extending their support to the Asian Hockey Federation, and now in the Hero Asian Champions Trophy. The host, Oman Hockey Association, has become a dominant member of the AHF and has successfully hosted some prestigious Asian Events, including Men’s Asian Games Qualifiers earlier this year. These successes are also due to our long-standing corporate partner Hero MotoCorp, which has aided the AHF tremendously in the realization of stretched AHF Strategies. Last but not the least, I would like to wish the best of luck to all – the title sponsor Hero MotoCorp, the Organizing Committee, Oman Hockey Association, participating nations, and foremost, the athletes”.

Captain Talib Al Wahaibi, President of the Oman Hockey Association, said, “It is an honor for me and the OHA to host the super-six at the Hero Asian Champions Trophy in our welcoming city of Muscat. Hockey is on the rise in Oman and I am certain that the people of Oman will participate in the event with great enthusiasm to support not only their home team but also the other top Asian nations. I look forward to seeing all and hosting the Hero Asian Champions trophy in October”.
