Hong Kong defeated Sri Lanka 3-0 in the Air Asia Women’s Junior Asia Cup Qualifiers at the Sengkang Hockey Stadium in Singapore.

Hong Kong had lost two of their previous  three matches , 0-5 to Uzbekistan, 0-2 to Chinese Taipei but defeated Bangladesh 1-p for the only win this far.

In contrast Sri Lanka has lost all their three matches prior to today,  0-6 to Chinese Taipei, 0-2 to Bangladesh and 1-10 to hosts Singapore.

Despite early domination, Hong Kong failed to get on the scoreboard, even wasting three penalty corners.

But the constant pressure eventually paid dividends as they opened scoring in the 18th minute via Emily Mann.

They doubled their advantage through their forth penalty corner, this time So Mei Kei making it count a minute into the third quarter.

And Emily scored her second, Hong Kong’s third in the 53rd minute for a convincing 3-0 win.

Hong Kong will complete their fixtures with a match against Singapore on Sunday.
