PON (Pekan Olahraga Nasional) XX PAPUA is a multi-sport event held once every four years in Indonesia.

For the 2021 edition of the Games, Papua is selected as the host Province and the Jayapura district is the venue. PON was originally scheduled to take place in 2020, the event was postponed to 2021, in March 2020, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The participants of this event are athletes from all provinces of Indonesia.

PON is organized by the National Sports Committee of Indonesia (KONI). PON XX PAPUA 2021 was formally opened by President Joko Widodo at the Lukas Enembe Stadium on 02 Oct 2021 with a splendid opening ceremony.

Hockey matches in PON are scheduled from 4 to 12 October, whereas Indoor Hockey matches are scheduled from 6 to 10 October. Matches will be played in the hockey stadium in Doyo Baru Sports Complex, Jayapura District, Papua Province. Indoor Hockey sitting capacity is 1900, Field Hockey capacity is 1250.
