The Asian Hockey Federation aims to assist the technical staff with the AHF Development, Coaching and Education Program 2016. The developments in training coaches, umpires and technical officials are progressing faster than ever with more and more Asian federations taking productive participation in the courses.
The Indoor Coaching Course Level II was conducted in Iran from 15 October to 20 Octover 2016. The course consisted of evaluation sessions of previously held tournaments, analysis of different coaching techniques and practical sessions.
Well organized by course coordinator Jens Passforto, FIH Coach High Performance. A total of 25 participants were able to learn about indoor hockey with Assitant Conductor Mr. Safaei, Techincal Director Hassan Abazari and Administration Director Hadi Shariati.
After the preliminary introductions, presentations started on Saturday, 15 October, and over six days, the course included evalutaion of WC 2015 with discussions, practical sessions with individual and group participation and analysis of indoor techniques and strategies.
Topics covered included introduction to core concepts of indoor hockey, indoor equipment in general as well as protective equipment, elements of goal scoring on top level, superior number attacks and sub number attacks. Every session included theory and afterwards hands on practice. On the final day of the course, analysis and forecasts were drawn along with the closing ceremony.
This coaching education program marks another forward step in the development and education of technical officials to improve coaching skills on all levels by organizing courses and workshops to disseminate coaching knowledge and experience down to the provincial and district level.
