Pakistan Army defeated defending champion Navy in a thrilling match to win the Inter-Services Hockey Championship. The distinguished guest distributed medals and trophies among the athletes

According to details, the Pakistan Army won the final of the Inter-Services Hockey Championship at PAF Base Peshawar under the auspices of the Pakistan Air Force Sports Control Committee and Pakistan Hockey Federation. In a thrilling match, Pakistan Navy defeated 2-3 to become the Inter-Services Hockey Champion. From the beginning of the match, both the teams started attacking each other’s goalposts.

In the first minute of the game, Wasim Akram, a promising player of the Army, scored a brilliant field goal to give his team the lead. In the 13th minute of the game, Pakistan Army managed to get a penalty stroke on which Muhammad Safir stabilized the lead of the army by applying the best penalty stroke.

Pakistan Navy got a penalty corner in the 23rd minute of the game on which their player Khalid Ali scored a goal. Defending champion Pakistan Navy got a penalty stroke in the 34th minute of the game on which Muhammad Sabir successfully scored a goal to get his team out of the difficulty and the match ended 2-2. In the last moments of the third quarter, Pakistan Army managed to get a penalty corner and the decisive goal of the match was scored by Amir Sohail.

The match was best supervised by International Hockey Umpires Hafiz Atif Malik and Yar Khurshid. Hockey fans enjoyed the quality of umpiring and umpiring technique in the final match. At the end of the match, Pakistan Navy officials visited the ground and thanked Tournament Director Syed Mohammad Zahir Shah and the umpiring panel and International Hockey Umpires Yasir Khurshid and Atif Malik for umpiring in a responsible and professional manner. The judges were Syed Ali Abbas and Rana Sajid while the technical officer was Hamza Tufail. Syed Mohammad Zahir Shah was acting as the tournament director for the Pakistan Hockey Federation while former international hockey umpire Syed Zulfiqar Shah was acting as the umpires’ manager.

Commandant of the Pakistan Air Force Northern Air Command Air Marshal Muhammad Ehsan-ul-Haq (Sitara Imtiaz Military) was the special guest at the closing ceremony of the Inter-Services Hockey Championship which was hosted by Pakistan Air Force at SPF Ground Air Base Peshawar. The distinguished guest was accorded a warm welcome on his arrival at the stadium. At the end of the match, the distinguished guest was introduced to the players and officials. Accompanied by the distinguished guest, Base Commander Peshawar as well as Director Sports PAF Sports Control Committee were also present on the occasion. The Pakistan Air Force presented a special souvenir to Tournament Director Syed Muhammad Zahir Shah on the success of the event. The distinguished guest was presented a commemorative souvenir by Base Commander Peshawar and the distinguished guest presented medals to the players and handed over the Inter-Services Hockey Championship Trophy to the Pakistan Army.
