Lahore: 23 December 2020: Dar Hockey Academy Lahore and Sports Board Punjab are playing joint High Tech Under-17 hockey tournament 20 grand opening of National Hockey Stadium Lahore, Dar Hockey Academy Lahore and Fayyaz Hockey. Academy Sargodha won its matches played today. Sports Board Punjab Director General Adnan Arshad Olakh inaugurated the tournament. Legend Olympian Manzoor Hussain Jr., Olympian Samiullah Khan, Olympian Tauqeer Dar, Olympian Khalid Hameed, Brigadier Tahir Saeed Butt, Rai Usman Akbar Kharal, Olympian Tahir Zaman, Olympian Danish Kaleem, Qasim Khan International and Director Sports Muhammad Hafeez Bhatti were also present with him. Upon the arrival of the special guest, he was presented a bouquet of flowers and later introduced to all the players.
Abuzar Waheed and Hamza Fayyaz scored one goal each for Sargodha while Ustad Rafi scored the only goal for Ustad Aslam Roda Hockey Academy. The man of the match was Mohammad Emad who was given a cash prize of Rs 5,000 by City Steel CEO Shoaib Arshad.
In today’s second match, Dar Hockey Academy defeated Tahir Zaman Hockey Academy by 03 goals to 02. Shahbaz Ahmed and Abdul Rehman scored two goals each for Dar Hockey Academy while Ammar Rashid scored two goals for Tahir Zaman Hockey Academy. The man of the match was Kashif Sadiq of Dar Hockey Academy. A large number of spectators watched the match. Olympians Shafqat Rasool, Kashif Shah International, Mujahid Afzal International, Zahid Afzal International, Habib-ur-Rehman Shatti, Rashid Mahmood Butt and a large number of friends of the hockey family were also present on the occasion.
Hafiz Atif Malik, Banish Hayat, Zahid Hameed and Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din officiated. Munawar Chaudhry was the umpire’s manager and Muhammad Shafiq Bhatti was the tournament director. The tournament will run till December 26, 2020 and the final will be played on Saturday, December 26 at 3:00 PM at the National Hockey Stadium, Main Stadium, Lahore.
