Japan, Korea and Japan sail through comfortable victories at the Women’s Asia Cup 2017

Indian Women’s Hockey Team got off to a great start against their match with Malaysia at the Women’s Asia Cup 2017 in Kakamigahara, Japan. The team led by Rani dominated against Malaysia but the goals came in late, India won by 2 goals. The win was by no means a comfortable victory as the Malaysians put up a good defense.  It was goals by KATARIYA Vandana (54’), and KAUR Gurjit(55’), that ensured India notched up the winning points in their third match in Pool A of the tournament.
Korea took charge against Kazakhstan pounding them with 8 goals to 1. The match saw a flurry of goals early in the match with the first goals coming on the 1st minute of the match! The goals came in by  LEE Yuri (1`), PARK Seunga (7`, 26`, 36`), CHO Hyejin (11`), KIM Jongeun (20`, 45`), SHIN Hyejeong (57`, 58`). Whereas, Kazakhstan’s top scorer DOMASHNEVA Vera brought a goal back on the 16` minute.
Korea showed dominance throughout the match by defeating Thailand by 8 goals. The goals came in by HONG Ji Seon (4`), PARK Seunga (9`, 24`, 36`),  AN Hyoju (16`), JANG Heesun (12`, 50`), PARK Mi Hyun (55`).
The Japan Team also showed their dominance against Thailand defeating them by 7 – 1 goals. The goals started early with KANEFUJI Shoko (2`), TORIYAMA Mai (3`, 31`), KAWAMURA Motomi (C) (11`, 30`), TSUJII Shiho (20`). Whereas, Thailand’s SAMANSO Supansa brought 1 goal in the 43rd minute.
