The world will come together in the celebration of the Olympic Day on the 23rd of June this year. The Olympic Day is an annual affair and is much more than just a sports event. It is a day for the world to get active, learn about Olympic values and discover new sports. it allows the global community to come together and integrate with one another. The spirit of the Olympics is spread across communities and across borders – a message of positivity, harmony, and great good is the basis of such an event.
Earlier this year, the Asian Hockey Federation (AHF) reached out to National Associations in a bid to coordinate joined-up global activity to engage the world with the sport of hockey. Over 23 Countries has registered to formally participate in the Event from Asia which more member associations expected to partake in the global event. During the event many, National Federations host a series of fun-filled activities for youth and adults alike. A popular feature of the day has been Hockey 5’s matches, mini-coaches sessions, meet and greet with Olympic stars and many more.
Last year, Myanmar Hockey Federation received second place for their terrific show of respect and celebratory spirit by the Internation Hockey Federation. Myanmar hosted hockey matches for all ages and invited their hockey stars to meet the young future champions of Myanmar Hockey. In the year before that, Pakistan Hockey Federation received first place for their enthusiastic celebrations and the strong inclusion of former Olympic stars.
