Olympic Day was celebrated in Afghanistan in Kabul and Khost province with a host of activities. The local government was involved in the celebrations along with the National Olympic Committee and the Afghanistan Hockey Federation. In Kabul, government officials, sports board officials, the National Olympic Committee officials, President of Afghanistan Hockey Federation Mustafa Sadat, and Secretary General Afghanistan Hockey Federation were all present. The celebrations took place under the banner of Hockey4Life.
A hockey tournament was organized which featured different age groups and both males and females. An Olympic Run was also coordinated to celebrate the event. In addition to these activities, there was music and other festivities. The main highlight of the Olympic Day was painting that was carried out on a wall in Kabul.
