The International Olympic Committee (IOC) offers training possibilities at different levels for coaches officially recognized by their national federation (NA) and working in their own country. Laos Olympic Solidarity Level 1 Coaching course is one of the inordinate examples to grow the Olympic sport hockey within a nation.
Under the International Olympic Committee Olympic Solidarity Grant; Laos Olympic Committee and Laos Hockey Association organized Coaching course from 24-31 July at National Olympic Committee Sports Complex Vientiane. International Hockey federation Appointed FIH Coach and Educator Mr. Lim Chiow Chuan as course Conductor. Mr. Bounma Thammavong, Secretary of Laos Hockey Association was the coordinator of the course.
The course was attended by 22 coaches including 4 women from three provinces and nine districts from the capital Vientiane. It was conducted in English with the assistance of a translator. Throughout the duration of the course, the participants have shown great interest and enthusiasm to learn and participated actively in classroom discussions and practical activities.
Mr. Kasem Inthara, Joint Secretary General NOC of Laos was the chief guest and he gave away certificate to participants, he announced that The Laos National Games will be held in the northern province of Xieng Khouang next year and hockey has been included as a demonstration sport.
