Dammam/KSA (April 21,2017): Saudi Strikers (Green) beat MOI Bahrain Police 2-1 in the final of the friendly yournament at Ettifaq Sports Club grounds. In another event MOI Bahrain beat Saudi Strikers(Blue) 2-1 in penalty shoot outs.
The event was organised by Saudi Hockey on April 21 for the promotion of hockey between Saudi Arabia and Bahrain hockey clubs. A kid’s exhibition match between Bahrain kids and Saudi kids was played with lots of enthusiasm and talent by this giving the youngsters good exposure to Field hockey.
A total of 6 teams played in the seniors and 2 teams in the juniors.
“After the very successful AHF congress meet recently in Oman, Saudi Hockey is doing its best to promote hockey in whatever capacity possible as such tournaments help in the growth of hockey in Saudi Arabia. A lot of hockey currently is being played among expats but we are hopeful one day Saudi Arabia will have a national team” says Ali Zaman the Organizing Secretary and member of Saudi Hockey.
