Where Malaysia vs Indonesia and Singapore vs Thailand faced each other.

With the final confirmed, two matches with lots of goals and adrenaline were played at the excellent Morodok Techo Hockey Sport Center.

Malaysia 4 vs Indonesia 2 (MEN)

The match had an especially important connotation for GOBINATHAN Krishnamurthy’s team as they wanted to go for the upset and try to break the undefeated Malaysian team’s unbeaten run and thus try to reach the final on Tuesday, May 16.

RAHIM Amin’s men were treated to four goals scored by Shahmie Irfan Suhaimi, HASSAN Najib, Harris Osman and AZAHAR Amirul, one of them a penalty stroke. They were with the game in their favor during the whole match and it was only in the last minutes of the game that Indonesia tried to react and managed to score two goals in two minutes by the young player RADITYA Derangga, who tried to go for the discount.

This was not enough, and the Malaysian team remained unbeaten going into the final on Tuesday, May 16 with 12 points.

Singapore 6 vs Thailand 1 (MEN)

In the second and final match of the day, Singapore needed to win to consolidate their second place, while Thailand would try to move up the standings to avoid being in fourth place.

The match was marked by the pace of VIJAYAN Krishnan’s team, who managed to score six goals in all quarters of the match. The first came after 17 minutes with a goal by ZUL’KEPLI Ashriq which opened the scoring window for the other five goals to be scored by LOO Kent x2, MARICAN Enrico, KAHAR Bazil, THULASIRAM Ramanan.

With a much more active development by Singapore, Thailand did not have many scoring options, but tried to block their opponent and not give them space to score more goals. PHUMEE Kritsana’s goal was the only player to score in the 53rd minute to give his team a goal before ending his last participation in the tournament.

Singapore will play the final on Tuesday May 16 against Malaysia to define the great champion of these SEA Games 2023 (Field Hockey).
