Sindh Government honours the National Sport of Pakistan by providing lifesaving Medical Facilities to a Former National Hero Naveed Alam

Former hockey Olympian Naveed Alam has been diagnosed with blood cancer. He is 47 years of age. 1994 World Cup gold medallist Naveed Alam was also a part of the national hockey squad that competed in the 1996 Olympics. Naveed Alam has formerly served as the coach of the national hockey team; he has also been serving as the Director of Domestic Game Development in PHF.

A letter was written by the Sindh government to Shaukat Khanum Hospital; Sindh Govt is paying for the treatment of cancer-stricken Olympian Naveed Alam, as informed by the President Pakistan Hockey Federation Brigadier (R) Khalid Sajjad Khokhar and Secretary General PHF Olympian Asif Bajwa.

According to details, on the instructions of Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, the entire cost of treatment of former Olympian Naveed Alam, who is suffering from cancer, will be provided by the Sindh government. Written instructions have also been issued by the Sindh government to Shaukat Khanum Hospital Lahore for the treatment of the 1994 Hockey World Cup Gold Medallist Olympian Naveed Alam.

President Pakistan Hockey Federation Brigadier (R) Khalid Sajjad Khokhar and Secretary General PHF Olympian Muhammad Asif Bajwa have extended their gratitude to Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and said that the Sindh government has always taken practical steps for the welfare of the national game. Whether it is the construction of national sports infrastructure or the welfare of the players, the Sindh government has always played a key role. The Pakistan Hockey Federation on behalf of all its hockey stakeholders has extended its gratitude to the Chief Minister of Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah, Minister of Health, Secretary Health to the Government of Sindh for this noble initiative.
