On December 4th the Indoor matches for both men and women will begin as part of the Southeast Asian Games in the Philippines. The Indoor Hockey tournament will take place in the city of Los Baños, province of Laguna and the selected venue for it is the court inside the Centro Mall.
The event will feature the teams of Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand for men and Cambodia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand for women.
The competition format will consist of 5 teams of each category participating in a round-robin competition in the course of five days. Every contestant meets all other contestants in turn and the top four will go against each other in semi-finals and the winners will go to a final match, in which the champion will get the gold.
The Malaysian men are one of the favorites candidates as they have had a very successful performance in this year’s Indoor Hockey Asia Cup after finishing 3rd place. Meanwhile, the Thai women are also the favorites after getting 2nd place in this year’s Indoor Hockey Asia Cup, displaying a great performance in every game played. The tournament promises lots of chilling and exciting moments as it is the last big event of the year.
