The Malaysian Hockey Confederation today through a press conference with the President, Dato’ Sri Sabahan Kamal has announced Mr. Nishel Kumar as the new Chief Executive Officer of KHM

 And Mr. Nishel Kumar has started his duties with KHM on March 1, 2023.

Dato’ Sri Subahan Kamal explained, apart from having a Masters in Sports Science from the University of Malaya and having 82 caps with the national team, Mr. Nishel Kumar, who has held the highest positions in the government such as the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Malaysian Anti-Doping Agency (ADAMAS), and the Chief Commercial Officer of the National Sports Institute (ISN) is one of the main factors in KHM seeing that he is a suitable individual to hold the position of KPE.
Dato’ Sri Subahan Kamal is also confident in the credibility of Mr. Nishel Kumar is able to help in ensuring the smooth organization of the 2023 Youth World Cup Hockey Tournament that will take place in Kuala Lumpur as well as the smooth administration at KHM.
His appointment will provide added value to us at KHM because he is a former national player who understands the sport himself and most of the coaches are those who have played with him.
He understands the sport better and can give me insight on what needs to be improved and so on from a technical point of view.
I am quite confident that he is capable of shouldering the given responsibilities well enough. However, his task is not easy especially ahead of the organization of the 2023 Junior World Cup Hockey Tournament.I would like to thank the National Sports Institute (ISN) for lending him to us,” explained Dato’ Sri Subahan Kamal.
In the same press conference, Dato’ Sri Subahan Kamal also announced the appointment of Mr. Haji Mohd Sayuti Abdul Samat as the new KHM Coaching Committee Chairman. Mr. Haji Sayuti is the President of the Perak Hockey Association and a former national goalkeeper who has been active for 45 years in the hockey arena in Malaysia.Because of that too, I have appointed Tn. Haji Sayuti as Chairman of the KHM Coaching Committee. He is a former national goalkeeper who has 45 international caps and I believe he is also able to help me in moving hockey in Malaysia.
Meanwhile, Dato’ Sri Subahan Kamal also announced the appointment of Mr. Ganesh Shanmugam, President of the Selangor Hockey Association, as a Member of the Independent Executive Board of KHM.
