The World Games Athlete of the Year: PR Sreejesh in the race

Back

The shortlist of athletes for The World Games Athlete of the Year in 2021 award has just been revealed by The World Games.

India’s goalkeeper PR Sreejesh is the hockey athlete engaged in the race to win this prestigious title!

To make this happen, you can register your vote here from 10 January on.

Elected FIH Goalkeeper of the Year for 2021, PR Sreejesh – a triple Olympian with over 240 international appearances – has enjoyed an exceptional 12 months, producing his very best form to help his team claim bronze at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020.

The 33-year-old from Kerala is admired the world over not only for his goalkeeping skills, but also for his sportsmanship, kindness, and a genuine desire to make the world a better place. He is a vocal supporter for doctors and all front-line workers involved in the ongoing global health pandemic, with India’s men’s hockey team dedicating their Olympic bronze medal to the country’s ‘covid warriors’.

After Indian women’s team player Rani Rampal became the first-ever hockey player to win the award in 2020, let’s do everything we can to bring a second crown to hockey in 2022!

Thank you and Happy New Year!
