The curtain of TNB Malaysia Hockey League (Women) 2021 is anchored with the title of TNB Malaysia Hockey League (Women) 2021 runner-up officially belongs to PDRM Blue Warriors after easily beating Mutiara Juniors-PSHA 10-0 in the last match at the Bukit Jalil National Hockey Stadium, tonight.

After UniKL Ladies was crowned as the League Champion last Tuesday, the position as runner-up became a tussle between PKS Uniten-KPT and PDRM Blue Warriors which had to be decided in their last match.

With the end of the league competition, this means that the top four teams, UniKL Ladies, PKS Uniten-KPT, PDRM Blue Warriors and Sabah qualify for the semi-finals of the Vivian May Soars Cup and will meet from Sunday (March 28).

 

Based on the achievements in the League, UniKL Ladies are definitely the top choice to win the double title after creating their own history by winning the League title in their first appearance this season.

 

PDRM Blue Warriors 10-0 Pearl Juniors-PSHA

PDRM Blue Warriors came down with the goal of not only winning and collecting full points, but winning with big goals to grab the runner-up title after sharing points in the overall league standings with PKS Uniten-KPT.

Although the first quarter ended without a goal, PDRM was finally relieved when the front line bounced back and scored five quick goals in five minutes.

Starting with a goal by Ellya Amanina Ellias in the 23rd minute, Wan Norfaiezah Md Saiuti widened the gap in the 24th minute, followed by Norbaini Hashim (25th minute) and Nurfatin Dizana Mohd Zaidi (26th minute).

Two goals scored by Fatin Shafika Mohd Sukri in the 27th minute, 32nd, plus another goal by Nur Fatin Dizana (29th minute), Fatin Naimah Zaki (37, 54), Norhasikin Halim (40th minute) completed PDRM’s big victory which confirmed its position as the second-best in the League.

 

PKS Uniten -KPT 6 -0 Sabah

Defending Cup champion Vivian May Soars put in a neat performance to easily beat Sabah 6-0 in the League’s final match, and had to settle for third place overall for the 2021 season.

Three goals in the first four minutes saw PKS Uniten-KPT evoke confidence in fully mastering the rhythm of the game.

Siti Zulaikha Hussain opened the scoring through a penalty corner in the second minute followed by Nurmaizatul Hanim Syafi Shiek Fuad (fifth minute) and Nur Insyirah Effarizal in the sixth minute, besides another goal from Nur Zafirah Aziz in the 18th minute put PKS Uniten-KPT in forward by four goals.

The fourth quarter saw two more goals scored by Nurul Faezah Shafiqah Khalim in the 50th minute and Nur Hafizah Maznan in the 59th minute.

 

UniKL Ladies 4 – 2 Young Tigress

UniKL Ladies maintained an unbeaten record when completing the match with a 4-2 win over the Young Tigress development team tonight.

Despite being the champions, UniKL Ladies remained enthusiastic with the goal of collecting three full points to maintain a clean sheet without losing in their first appearance of the season.

The sweetest for national player Nur Atira Mohamad Is who emerged as the hat-trick scorer (fifth, 16th and 30th minutes) and put himself as the league’s top scorer with seven goals, tied with teammate Nuramirah Shakirah Zulkifli. Nur Afiqah Syahzani Azhar completed the UniKL Ladies victory with a field goal in the 44th minute.

However, their unbeaten record was shattered when Young Tigress managed to score through Dian Nursyakira Najwa in the 13th minute and Dayang Nuramirah Abang Mahadani (49th minute).
