An under 16 tournament was recently held in Dushanbe, Tajikistan with the help of the Development and Engagement wing of the AHF.

An under 16 tournament was recently held in Dushanbe, Tajikistan with the help of the Development and Engagement wing of the AHF. The inter-school competition attracted 8 sports schools from across the country participated. These sports schools have been critical to the development of Hockey within Tajikistan as they incorporate designate hockey academies to churn out the next generation of hockey players from within Tajikistan.

The tournament took place in the month of December 2018 under the guidance of the Director Sports Schools Olympic Reserve Kadirov Zahidula. Dushanbe was crowned the winner of the tournament, with Rudaki coming in second place and third place was secured by Bokhtar.

Medals and certificates were distributed amongst the winners of the event. The event was received with much positivity by the audience and the media. The AHF equipment and support grant has increasingly enhanced the hockey situation in Tajikistan because of which new schools have recently increased participation in Tajikistan Hockey. This is great news for us as it shows the AHF efforts reaping rewards in the form of increased love for the sport of hockey.
