Uzbekistan emerged runners up at the Air Asia AHF Women’s Junior Asia Cup Qualifiers.

Thanks to their 8-0 win over Sri Lanka at the Sengkang Hockey Stadium in Singapore, they joined tournament winners Singapore to qualify for the Junior Asia Cup to be held in Japan in April 2020.

Uzbekistan had a good start and went 2-0 ahead within a minute courtesy of goals from Zulfiyakhon Kasanboeva in the 13th and 14th minutes.

Skipper Kamilla Adizova made it 3-0 in the 19th minute.

With word fitting in that Chinese Taipei were leading Bangladesh 4-1 on the adjacent pitch, Uzbekistan went on the offensive to add to their goal tally.

And add they did as eventually they scored an emphatic 8-0 win over Sri Lanka.

The other goal getters for Uzbekistan were  Shakhrizoda  Kakhramonova ( 34th and 54th minutes), Sabina Adizova ( 57th minute), Istamoy  Purakova ( 58th minute) and Zulfiyakhon ( 59th minute).
