Women’s test series played out between Japan and Argentina

The test series between Japan and Argentina kicked off in Mar Del Plata, Argentina from the 1-4 February 2020. Both the Senior Women’s teams were determined for a good outing in these series. After a strong 2019 for Argentina, they were looking to start this year with a series win over Japan.

 

The first match was played on the 1st of Feb 2020, resulting in Argentina beating Japan by 3-1. It was a close encounter till Halftime with the score at 1-0, the third period saw two more goals scored by Argentina, Japan scored a consolation goal to make the score 3-1.

 

The second day of matches saw a thrilling match between Argentina and Japan. After a goalless first half, we were treated to a goal fest in the second half. Japan were leading 2-1 in the third period, however Argentina pulled off a great comeback, winning the match 3-2.

 

The last match was a completely different story as Argentina dominated Japan by a 6-1 score line. Although the first half ended with the score at 1-1, Argentina scored three goals in the third period and added two more at the end. It was a good learning experience for the Japanese team as they impressed in the second match of the series. Overall the series was a success with a vibrant turnout.
