Karachi, Pakistan: Youth Hockey Club Blues defeated Karachi Gladiators 0-6 to win the KHA Inter Club Hockey Championship. Ahmed Alam, former captain of the national hockey team and special guest of the final, along with Olympian Kashif Jawad distributed prizes among the players.
The final of Inter Club Hockey Championship organized by Karachi Hockey Association at KHA Sports Complex Gulshan-e-Iqbal Gulshan-e-Iqbal was played between Youth Hockey Club Blue and Karachi Gladiator HC. Demonstrated the game which gave YHC Blue a decisive lead of 0-5 in the first half. In the second half, the winning team scored another goal and clinched the championship title 0-6. Wasim Aslam of the winning team scored first and third, Haris Naseer scored in the fifth and fourteenth, Shahbaz Khan in the sixteenth and Ali Afridi in the 31st minute to make his team champions. General Manager PHF Women’s Wing Sindh Syeda Shehla Raza while praising Haider Hussain and his team for the success of the event on the occasion of meeting the players, he said that the success of the 32-team club championship has proved that the hard work of KHA is paying off. According to Vision, the mission to revive hockey will be completed soon. At the end of the final, the special guest was former captain Olympian Ahmed Alam. CEO Nadeem Ahmed, Chief Executive Officer Sartoria D Ambassador Sarfraz Akbar. Zee Group Founder and President Zeeshan Altaf Loya, KHA Senior Vice President Dr. S. Majid and Vice President Dr. Saqib Ansari among others distributed prizes among the players.
According to the decision of the selection committee of KHA comprising Tasneem Usmani, Pervez Iqbal and Salman Sheikh, Abdul Rehman of the winning team was declared the best player of the final, Zainul Abidin was declared the best emerging player of the championship and Haris Naseer was declared the best player of the tournament. International Hockey Players Arif Bhopali and Khalid Paracha performed their duties.
